How To: Manually connect macOS or iOS Apps to a private Cirkus server

By default the Cirkus Apps downloaded from the App Store will connect to cirkus.com public cloud.

If you have a private server, and all your users have the same email domain, we can set up automatic mapping of that domain to your server.
If however, some or all of your users have different emails, you will need to manually repoint your apps to the service.
Note: this mapping will persist for each logged in session and will only be cleared if you explicitly logout of the application. For this reason we would advise keeping your session active and not logging out of macOS or iOS applications.

Point a Cirkus MacOS App to your private Cirkus clouded service

  1. First you will need to know the domain name of the private cirkus server you need to point to. i.e yourcompany.cirkus.com.
  2. Open the first screen and enter your email address, and click Next button
  3. In the Sign Up or Log In window, click on the Cirkus menu
  4. Hold down the option key and a new option will appear API Endpoint.., click on that option
  5. In the popup that opens fill out the following details
In the fields that appears type
    API endpoint: https://<yourname.cirkus.com>/api/v1
    Websockets Endpoint: wss://<yourname.cirkus.com>/ws/
replacing <yourname.cirkus.com> is the domain of your Cirkus private server.
  6. Click Change and you can Log In or Sign Up as a user in the private server.

This mapping will persist for each logged in session and will only be cleared if you Log Out of the application. For this reason we would advise keeping your session active and not logging out of macOS or iOS applications.
